"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

A Folly Forest

The final project for the book page Christmas display was a forest of trees for the ledge behind the checkout counter. It featured one tall glitter tree and strings of blue and white dots to suggest little lights.

I cut out the trees in chunks of two or three from foam core and I layered them to add dimension. Once again I used my foyer for planning...climbing the steps to get perspective.  I decoupaged the trees in strips of book pages.

If I remember correctly I glued wooden blocks onto the backs of the trees so they would stand on their own.
