"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

"Normal Life"

We had a wonderful day yesterday....and I don't even mind facing the mess this morning.  I'm so grateful that my grown child is so interesting and fun to spend time with.

A beautiful box of pears we get to enjoy from
my dear friend Connie and her family.

I get a daily e-mail quote from an author I have been reading lately. This one came this morning and I found it compelling.

"Not that she didn't enjoy the holidays: but she always felt-and it was, perhaps, the measure of her peculiar happiness-a little relieved when they were over. Her normal life pleased her so well that she was half afraid to step out of its frame in case one day she should find herself unable to get back."  Jan Struther, Mrs. Miniver

I love the holidays....but I kind of feel this way sometimes. My "normal life" does please me!  I hope yours does too.
