Oh what a beautiful day it was after the rain....and even the rain was beautiful.
Another rainbow project from the past....gelli print daisies collaged on a book page.
After a slew of morning chores.....I started coloring in the background of the Bowman's root doodle with shades of green colored pencil. I didn't love the look....so tried to enhance it out with light shades of green marker and still didn't like it. I was working on thin drawing paper....so was limited with what the paper could take.
The simple line work helps the green be OK enough....and the blooms still shine.
I immediately found a spot in my layered floral joy journal....and I love the way you can see it from the very fist page. Sort of. It's there peeking out in the back...if you look closely.
The green that didn't work, the more green that also didn't work, the cutting, the linework, the playing up of warm and cool green contrast, the finding of a place in your floral joy journal—LOVED the ride, love the landing place, love the way that piece will invite more play with your muse. TA DA, MaryAnn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for celebrating this little Ta Da journey with me Dotty!
DeleteSuch a happy post, MaryAnn! I really love your geli printed daisy collage and totally understand your deciding to limit your background coloring of your doodle to a small square. I sometimes just know that enough is enough when I'm making something and there's no sense in forcing art. But it ended up fitting in your journal beautifully, almost as though it was "meant to be"! ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It's good to know when enough is enough! And I agree...it was meant to go in my little journal all along.
