Like many of you...I'm guessing....I've been struggling with the blatant and undeniable corruption on full display in our government right now. It's unconscionable what the President is able to get away with and it's hard to understand and accept the abuse of power. The news is horrific and heavy.....so it's even more important to set it aside and find some joy each day. I still dare to hope that the arc of the moral universe will eventually bend toward justice.
I just finished this fantastic puzzle with all of its colorful and tiny details.
I loved every minute of it....and it helped lighten the heavy load.
I loved every minute of it....and it helped lighten the heavy load.
I'm going the opposite of tiny on the next one...large blocks of bold beautiful color.
Having some peaceful puzzle time every day brings me joy.

Here's another wonky fabric flower experiment....I mostly like it...but there's room for improvement. I will always enjoy stitching on paper....but too much stitching causes the paper to rip so this time I used fabric for the background. I am at peace when I am playing with bold colors at my sewing machine.
I’m glad you are finding some moments of peace because the world is truly mad right now. And our beloved country is in the middle of it. I pray that the pendulum swings soon. I don’t understand how so many can be so blind. I do love your card today❣️
ReplyDeleteWell said Louise! We have to have hope....and also find a bit of joy every day.
DeleteMaryAnn, I appreciate your voicing your struggle with the blatant and undeniable corruption on full display in our government right now, and I'm so grateful for your shining your light in every direction to find joy that lightens the heavy load. And, OMG, you sure found joy in that magnificent puzzle! I don't make jigsaw puzzles regularly, but putting together a jigsaw as part of Sisterfest is a tradition of many years now and it's grand fun. Glad to see your next puzzle is already on deck!
ReplyDeleteHooray for love, joy, and hope! What a terrific "wonky fabric flower experiment" you undertook! Your stitching makes for very appealing flower stems! And YES to the intense bright colors ❤️.
Thanks Dotty! I know so many of are are struggling with all of this...and sometimes I just need to say it out loud. Lucky us for having art and puzzles and Sisterfests in our lives to lighten the load. Hooray indeed!
DeleteAdorable fabric flower experiment! It's so cute that I want to add a version of it to one of my art journals.
ReplyDeleteThank you....and go for it! I hope something similar does end up in one of your journals!
DeleteI understand your feelings about our government and president right now - I have been struggling myself with what is going on. Your puzzle looks like a fun distraction, as well as your joyful flowers! I have been finding joy in making lately too - a game mat for my great niece with whimsical animals, and some small embroideries. We are fortunate to have these interests that bring joy, color and comfort in these frustrating times. Love your new puzzle! Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWe are all in this together Judy. Just when you think it can't get worse...it does. Thank goodness we have things in our lives that bring us joy in the midst of it all. That's where we find moments of peace.
DeleteI feel the same way. After what has happened yesterday and today, I feel like I have reached my limit of horror. I didn’t even enjoy gardening today.
ReplyDeleteTomorrow is a new day.
Yes....these recent events are such a blow. I'm reaching my limit of horror too! But maybe this will wake up a sleeping Congress! I hope you can get back to finding joy in the garden. They can't take that away from us!!!
DeleteAs Lemmy Killmister (Motorhead) said in a song "Just 'cause you got the power, don't mean you got the right!" The slush fund is not a done deal yet and all we can hope for is that the lawsuits hold this at bay until either Congress steps up, the midterms are a Blue wave, or Karma steps in. Another attempt to distract from the Epstein files. I was frustrated yesterday by seeing that the ballroom construction is still going on. I thought it was on hold because of the lawsuits. Despite all that I am forging ahead with finding happiness and joy in my own world.
ReplyDeleteThank you Patty for this thoughtful comment. I agree with everything you said and hope that great list of things all come to fruition. There is SOOO much to be frustrated by....but like you....I'm forging ahead finding happiness and joy. Thank you!!!
