Soap Bubbles

It seems like I'm always on a journey....and I change directions on a whim. But my journey of the moment is this magical process of cyanotypes.

Here's what can happen when you add soap bubbles on and around the plants.

I do love the surprise texture and coloration it creates....and it hides any fingerprints I might have made.

You can see the blobs of soap bubbles I dotted here and there.

After a few minutes in the sun.

Before I rinsed....maybe 10 minutes or so in the sun.

After rinsing and drying. Magic...right?

Here's another one with soap bubbles. There's something about simplicity of this one that captured my heart. I need to figure out how to get more of the smaller soap bubbles. I love the effect....kind of like a starry night.

I used a small pressed Queen Anne's Lace bloom and a few weeds.

Here's a few prints with soap bubbles in my sink. This is the point I rinsed them with just a little bit of peroxide...which speeds up the oxidation. 

They were such a dark inky blue in the water....

but they dried a little lighter....but still beautiful.

No soap bubbles or fingerprints here...just a simple fern in a simple card format already in the mail as a birthday card for my very special Aunt Beverly.

When I first rinsed and dried this one it looked like I didn't get good definition in the little branches. But after 24 hours it fully did its oxidation thing and turned out pretty good.
