Paul found the most unusual....and creepy object ever. He was on his bike when he got a glimpse of the hair.....and he had to stop to see what it was. And whatever it was....was stuffed into a little pink plastic backpack....with broken straps. It all looked a little suspicious.
What was inside was strange and creepy....but also made Paul laugh for hours.
I have soooo many question.
And just because it's Halloween week...I will allow this creepy found object to join the gang at the puzzle table. I moved tiny Jesus close by to keep an eye on her. But after Halloween...I know exactly where she will find a new home. I'll fill you in when the time is right.
And on a more positive note....look what I dropped off at Maine Needs today. They put out a call for feminine hygiene products last week...so that's where I spent the money I made from my cyanotype cards sold at Winslow Farm this summer. I'm thinking of Margie as I work on this puzzle...and I thought about her as I made my donation today. I had a powerful experience last year donating tampons.....you can read that story here: https://joyfulputtering.blogspot.com/2025/03/margies-bookshelf.html

Paul, Backpack Babs has to be the strangest find among your found objects! MaryAnn, if ever there would be a right time to include her in the gang at the puzzle table this week would be IT! I'll be most eager to learn where her new home will be when the time is right for that move!
ReplyDeleteMust be SO satisfying to have used your proceeds from sales of cyanotypes at Winslow Farm over the summer to help restock Maine needs to fill such a clear and present need. And thank you for sharing the related Margie post—so sweet.
Backpack Babs! Love it. And yes...so satisfying to take my most recent donation into Maine Needs. Using my art this way brings me so much joy.
DeleteHaha! That creepy little head made me laugh and cringe all at the same time! And what a wonderful way to use the proceeds from your card sales - much needed supplies for women. I'm always inspired by what you do, MaryAnn.
ReplyDeleteCreepy...and funny. Yes indeed!
DeleteIt's so much fun spending money I make from my art for things I take for granted. Such joy it brings me.
You have no idea how hard I am laughing at this!!! I thought perhaps it would be a troll doll but this is even better! Reminds me of Toy Story movies.
ReplyDeleteKathy
I guessed this would tickle you. Toy Story....yes! It's good to laugh...so thank for joining in Kathy!
DeletePost a notice for a Barbie who’s missing her head. Barbie running down the street her head came loose and tumbled into the backpack with the extra weight it fell to the ground but body kept moving. Now Barbie is without her head! 😂
ReplyDeleteSorry MaryAnn I just couldn’t resisted.
Lily
Without her head she can’t read the notice but maybe a friend will help her!
Ha ha....gotta love the humor of it all! We need it!
DeleteOh my, looks like some little one had a very unsuccessful try at styling her little dolly and tried to hide the results 🤣. Wouldn’t it be fun to be a fly and know the backstory? Probably much better as an unexpected Halloween visitor! Love it.
ReplyDeleteUp here in the northern reaches of California we are having a much easier time than southern areas with our king tides (so far). They can be really disruptive when combined with a heavy rainstorm but luckily it’s sunny today. Have some joy today.
Ha ha...yes it would be fun to know the backstory. So glad you had a sunny day today!
DeleteSo very funny, MaryAnn! I had to share Paul’s discovery with Greg. We both had a good laugh from that find! I chuckled more when I read that you put tiny Jesus closer to her. Greg tells the story of the lobster fisherman who pulled a lobster out of his trap wearing one Barbie doll’s go-go boot. Maybe this is her head.
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see your name here Hedy! We laughed about it too...so glad you and Greg found the humor in it. Tiny Jesus was just the ticket! LOVE the lobster wearing the go-go boots story! Great connection!
