I was out and about almost all day today...so I'm going to use this opportunity to give a little behind the scenes of The Traveling Flowers.
But I'll start with another patch of crocus....that's still mostly all we have for spring color so I pause every time I see some.
And I did finish this 100 Great Words puzzle during breakfast!
Kudos to this puzzle maker for this hodgepodge of interesting words.
Several days ago Cherie sent a few photo of the trunk of her car...with all its precious cargo. It's all part of the story of Chuck's generosity so I wanted to include them here. She and Dale have several of her dad's flowers in the car but you can see only my yellow ones. That's because Chuck makes all the flowers so the blooms can screw off for easy transporting and storage. How clever is he!
There are flowers for a few people...and a new design for Cherie for her garden that I hope to see a photo of at some point. Also..she has several of Chuck's plaid shirts that she's going to turn into a quilt..and of course she'll look for interesting tags. This set of red ones were handed off to friends in Oklahoma.
The Traveling Flowers made it all the way to
O'Fallon, Illinois today. Not only are Cherie and Dale visiting their friend Rita...but the flowers are visiting friends too. These are an earlier version of Chuck's flowers that they are hanging out with.
Yesterday I mentioned the Rt 66 Mid Point...but forgot to plot it.
It's there now in Texas along with the new destination for today!

The words in that puzzle are great fun! And I love getting to look behind the scenes of the traveling flowers. Thanks, MaryAnn!
ReplyDeleteEvery minute of the word puzzle was great fun! And every minute of this flower journey has been great fun too! Thanks for following along Dotty!
DeleteThose red flowers are so pretty! I am anxious to see Chuck's new design too. Those little purple crocus are so cute! I transplanted some when I moved, but the deer snacked on them so they did not come back.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree....I was torn between yellow and red! I love crocus...I planted about 100 in my yard several years ago and the squirrels dug them all up! So I guess you and I just have to admire our neighbors!
DeleteLove this flower filled post! The crocus blossoms are so beautiful with their purple petals and bright orange centers. And how clever that Chuck's flowers screw off - I bet you'll put them in a place of honor when their journey is over! Judy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! Anything flower filled is a good thing. It will be fun to figure out a spot for mine when they arrive.
DeleteMaryann, the traveling flowers have gotten a little road worn and will be getting a fresh spray paint job before being sent on…..would you like red paint instead of yellow????
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice ot you! I love the red...but I think with the journey they have made as yellow flowers...I can't imagine them any other color! So I'll stick with yellow. Thank you for the generous offer!
