"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Searching for Words

Hopefully this will make more sense later in this post...if it makes any sense at all!

In hopes that we thwart the destruction of democracy and protest against the pandemonium in our government, Paul and I meandered downton to admonish the disingenuous and malevolent sycophants in power. We were greeted by an eclectic and friendly group of neighbors and a plethora of cogent signs.

Another Saturday at a rally in downtown Portland...I loved this modified no parking sign:

 NO KING ANY TIME!

It's kind of ironic that I write a blog. Writing has never been my strong suit as I often find myself searching for the right words. When I'm telling a story I mix my metaphors and often twist or misuse a catch phrase. And don't even get me started on my editing skills. But here I am...doing what doesn't come easy. Thank you for looking past my errors and bumbly sentences and just seeing and sharing my joy.

I've been searching for words on my puzzle table too. I remember Margie doing this one...but this is the first time for me and I'm really enjoying it.

It's interesting where my mind takes me as I find and assemble a word. They're not all familiar to me...so I've been looking them up as I go along.

As you probably guessed....all the bold words in my opening paragraph are in the puzzle.

The Traveling Flowers left the Santa Fe area and made their way along Route 66 with a stop in Tucumcari, New Mexico for lunch.

They made a stop at Blue Hole in Santa Rosa. It's an interesting and popular swimming and diving spot with underwater caves.

  1. I love your first paragraph, both for its content as well as for the way you included puzzle words!! Thank you for protesting! Also, I think you write very well, MaryAnn. Like you, that puzzle has given me some words to look up! And those traveling flowers should have a song to go along with their journey - maybe a country western?

    1. Thanks Judy! I was a little unsure about including my opening paragraph...so thanks for the validation. And I totally agree...this flower journey needs a song!

  2. You are brave, talented and a wonderful writer (yes, really) and artist. Keep it up. And, wow, look at those flowers go. BTW, do you know the puzzle maker? I think I need that one.

    1. Thanks for the vote of confidence Louise!

This is a fun puzzle. It's called "100 Great Words" and is made by the eeboo company. I didn't see it on their website (I have several of their puzzles) but when I googled it it came up from several other sources. So google "eeboo 100 great words puzzles" and I think you'll find it.
