I have an interesting plant blooming in Lexington right now....it's a clematis
shrub called "New Love." It's what my sister Nancy calls a "handsome plant".....a perennial that is nice looking even when it's not blooming.

The small curly bloom is a beautiful shade of blue with a yellow center scattered along the stem in little clusters. Sometimes you don't even see it. The plant needs to be divided...and I recently read that it may need more sun than it's getting. Maybe I can get it to bloom a little more in another spot....but it's still a "handsome plant."
