Ah, September! You are the doorway to the season that awakens my soul....but I must confess that I love you only because you are a prelude to my beloved October. Peggy Toney Horton
I absolutely enjoy the summer...but I LOVE when it turns towards fall! And for the record....there are many reasons I love September.....but October has always been my favorite.
Paul and I checked out a little cove today along the Portland waterfront.
It was fun to see Mackworth Island there on the horizon....where I just was a few nights ago for the play.It was low tide...so lots of things to find on the rocky beach.....I spy Paul busy looking.
I had my parasol in my hand the whole time.
Just a few pieces left in my Vintage Sewing Box puzzle....and I just walked away.
Ah....September!

I'm with you, MaryAnn - I love September, but October is my favorite month! I always loved school - new shoes, new teachers, new friends, and fall colors are my favorites. So glad you had a nice Labor Day trip under your colorful parasol. Enjoy those last bits of your puzzle over breakfast! It's an image close to my heart! Judy
ReplyDeleteYay...another October fan! And I love all those fall starts too! As a student...and as a teacher for 23 years September was full of energy!
DeleteThis is a puzzle meant for you!!!
Where was I last night?! I didn't even catch on until just now that I never got to your post. Thanks for sharing your Labor Day field trip, the kind of Labor Day field trip I adore! Our field trip yesterday, aka our usual post-picnic passeggiata, was to explore yet another local road we've never before walked. It ran along part of the shoreline of Chebacco Lake, a few minutes from our home. A very interesting mix of homes, a highly eclectic hodge podge of styles, size, and upkeep, and we also saw what used to be a Jewish summer camp of some sort and is now the home of the Gordon College Rowing club.
ReplyDeleteha ha...I never worry about you. You're just living the good life! And those post-picnic strolls are contributing to your joy. Love that you explored an new road along the lake....and that it was a hodge podge. I can picture it...and it sounds wonderful!
