It seemed especially important to be downtown at the protest on a day like this when our out of control President has gotten us into a war without the consent of Congress or support from the American people.
Everyday...America seems to get deeper and deeper in crisis....and these upside down flags were a clear reminder of that. She almost blew away.So on a day like this it's nice when I can celebrate some unexpected joy. Linda D. sent me an envelope full of stamps from her childhood collection because she thought they might be useful in my joy journal project....and I think they will be.
A few stood out right away....on a day like this.
Peace dove

I do love me a grid—I love how postage stamps can make grid-like patterns on an envelope and how little cut-out-squares of any sorts of paper placed in a grid can look like stamps! Love those beautiful gold swirly scribbles, Roseanne, and I'm loving the way the blue fields of white stars on the flags look like stamps on envelopes, thanks to the context of this post, MaryAnn. Always grateful for my evening infusion of joy from you : )
ReplyDeleteThank you for noticing everything Dotty! Your comment made me smile from ear to ear!
DeleteI am so grateful to come to your blog and find a spark of joy, creativity and decency every day. I love that a pile of stamps and a lovely card and decorated envelope can bring such pleasure. Joy in the little things, keeping us going in the midst of chaos.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Judy. If we don't find joy in the little things...I think we would be overwhelmed with sadness. Joy does keep us going!
