"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Holding Onto Hope

Some days all you just need is a morning with a friend catching up and sorting through fabric.

I can't transport Jane to your living room....but I can send a quote that caught my attention.

We humans have a lot of work to do while all while holding on to hope....humanity and decency

Mandy Ford is the artist/author.

I found a little joy this afternoon adding a touch of watercolor to my cyanotype.

  1. Dave and I are laughing at ourselves, barely able to keep our eyes open at 730p! We're still tired after driving 11 hours back from Virginia to Massachusetts yesterday!!! Your touch of watercolor here joyfully embellishing your cyanotype: YUM! So bright, colorful, hope-filled, and simple—a winning combination. Love , too, the way you captured painting, paper towel, water jar, watercolor sets, paint brush, and workmat in you photo.

    1. And now I'm laughing with you. I sometimes can't keep my eyes open at 7:30 when I haven't driven all day. That's a very thoughtful comment for being blurry eyed and giddy! But as always...thank you Dotty for celebrating my puttering.

  2. Mandy's quote was the first thing I read this morning as I checked your blog. Holding on to hope and joy is what's getting us through these harrowing times. And the watercolor addition to your cyanotype is just the burst of joy I needed to see! Beautiful!
