"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Sunday Catch Up

I have a few joy things I just can't leave dangling without a shoutout! Let's start with the fact that at least 8 million people were in the streets yesterday for No Kings 3.0! I I have to believe that makes a difference.

I finished a puzzle yesterday! This is another one of Philippa's puzzles called Vivienne's Buttons. It's the second time I've done it....and I loved it again!

Last time I put this together I pulled out some of my own favorite
vintage buttons and arranged them on top of the puzzle!

You can see them better in this photo!
I'm a big button fan!

I didn't waste any time before I sorted out these precious little pieces
for the next one! They're are smaller than a dime.

This little mini was a gift from Becky....and it will be a quickie!

Janice brought me a hyacinth a week or so ago. At the time...it was just peeking through the soil...the first photo is 4 or 5 days later and the second one is just today.

I love how it's  pushing its way through the foliage! I've never had an indoor forced hyacinth before...it's really going to be fun watching it open!

And both amaryllis blooms are in their full glory!
Thank you for sticking around for my Sunday joy catch up!

  1. Protestors and buttons and indoor bulbs, oh my!

HYACINTH! Such a strongly evocative flower—I remember hyacinth from two years when my family lived in the Netherlands when I was ages 10-12. Thanks for that sensory memory jog, MaryAnn!

  2. I join you in joy over the great turnout for No Kings Day, MaryAnn! Bill and I were in a large group in Stoneham, MA and the sense of community and shared purpose was tangible! Such a wonderful experience and I'm so glad we participated. How fun to see your vintage buttons on Philippa's puzzle and I look forward to seeing your next mini puzzle! Wow, your amaryllis blossoms are gorgeous and the fragrance from your hyacinth must be beautiful!
