I was excited to come home to my first pink rain lily blooms! The foliage is still filling in...but it always throws up a few teaser blooms early in the season. It's loving the summer weather.
Right behind it...the Bowman's root is in full bloom...and my sweet little yellow day lilies are starting to bloom. I love my June garden. Before we had headed to Deer Isle....I did a little slow doodling on the patio.
The photos from your trip were beautiful, MaryAnn, and I'm so glad you had a great time. I love seeing the flower photos you share and the names of the flowers as I am not a gardener. I did plant a few geraniums and impatiens in a small garden near our driveway, but our hydrangeas and day lilies are the easy care, colorful displays in our yard. And I have to agree that doodling and using colored pencils are very calming pursuits! I'm hoping to finish filling one of my joy journals this week and will share the results with you. Judy
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It was a delightfully packed two days! You don't have to be a gardener to enjoy flowers...and it sounds like you have just the right mix. Looking forward to seeing your joy journals....but are they ever really finished?
DeleteWe'll be returning from time away at the other end of today, a little anxious about how our gardens fared in our absence—what with weather, deer, rabbits, and turkeys, it's anyone's guess. Your rain lilies, Bowman's root, and yellow day lilies give me hope! They're glorious, MaryAnn.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your reminder-by-example to invite slow doodling to be part of my re-entry plan. Your whimsical little doodled Bowman's root stars are so appealing, both in the inklines and the coloring.
