The Maine Senate race is in turmoil right now....but I remain hopeful things will turn out OK. There is so much to be concerned about in our country and the world....so it so important that we celebrate and find joy in the things that land in our day.
I'm celebrating these tiny mushrooms today. They are popping up all over our yard...and doing great things for the soil.....helping break down decaying matter. When I pick one....I toss it into the woods and it becomes food for the animals or gets composted into the forest floor.
I'm celebrating two new rain lily blooms today. A couple at a time are coming pretty regularly now and that makes me happy..
I'm celebrating a busy bluebird house as mom and dad go in and out....feeding the babies inside. It's so much fun to watch.....and really hard to photograph. Today they were trying to ward off a couple of bluejays that were getting too close. It was interesting watching these small birds defend their home turf.
I'm celebrating my son Sam who turned 37 on Monday. I'm also celebrating Kelly who decorated their campsite for the occasion. Don't you love the birthday sunglasses! We're having a family birthday party on Friday. I just love it when we gather.
Thank you for this enumeration of celebration from your day, MaryAnn. At my end I am celebrating that the younger of my two granddaughters had the opportunity to go to the Fenway Park concert featuring Noah Kahan last night with one of my sons—they were two happy folks in the every-single-seat-sold (i.e. 38000 tickets) crowd. It rained from beginning to end and no one there cared. It was one big happy sing-along, replete with fireworks, and Fenway's signature playing of Sweet Caroline as folks filed out at the end. The concert was the first of FOUR back-to-back entirely-sold-out Noah Kahan concerts!
ReplyDeleteHow fun. A friend of mine went with her husband and two kids and they had a blast despite the rain. Gotta love Noah Kahan!
DeleteI hope Maine can quickly repair the mess and gain support to flip that seat. Ohio's senate race is close too and we need Sherrod back! The lilies are stunning! The handmade booklet is wonderful. Happy birthday to your son!
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty! I hope so too! I'm hopeful that in the end this can be a good thing. There were a lot of people unsure about Platner. We've got some really good possibilities. I'll be watching Ohio!
DeleteSo many things to celebrate, MaryAnn!! I just love that booklet you received from Candy and all the lovely nature beauties in your yard! Enjoy your birthday celebration with your son and, as we watch the Maine Senate race, we'll be hoping for the best with you!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! There's always something to celebrate....we just have to be open to it. We're hoping this negative thing can turn into a positive here in Maine. We are just so fed up with Collins!
DeleteI don't blame you!! Fingers crossed!!
DeleteWell done, Candy!
