Always be on the lookout for the presence of wonder. E. B. White
Or...the presence of Ayla.As I was doing some last minute cleaning today I found one of Ayla's little beads...and it made me smile.Wonder is one of those words that is both a noun and a verb.....both a feeling and an action.
I know I will have things to share here while Becky is here. But as always when I am visiting or have guests...my timing may be a little off.
Ayla's bead made it into my montage to send to Alyson tonight....along with Rob's fabulous hydrangea shrubs. They're still going strong.
I have lots of ideas for us...and I know she does too. But we both enjoy down time...and we'll spend plenty of time just sitting and sharing stories while watching the birds.
And you can be sure that we will be on the lookout for the presence of wonder.

1. love your discovery of one of Ayla's beads; bumping into such souvenirs of visiting guests always brings me joy—a friendship bead, a Fisher Price person under the couch (months later), something unloaded from the dishwasher to other than its usual place : )
ReplyDelete2. JUST a few days ago i fiddled around with a poem whose central exploration was the nounness and verbness of the word wonder!
1. Yes yes yes! I didn't think of it as a souvenir of a visitor...but that's just what it is. Your whole list is spot on!
Delete2. Hope to read your wonder poem some day. I love words that have multiple meanings.
Those hydrangeas!!!! WOW!!! Lots of them here as well, but it seems that 99% are white, and the rest are pink. But this violet color- YES!!!

I couldn't agree more. The owner's wife who recently passed away had them shipped from the south somewhere. She wanted THIS specific variety. They just keep getting deeper purple!
DeleteWONDERful photos and I love that you found that little pink Ayla bead! Enjoy your visit, MaryAnn! Judy
