"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Vintage Bits and Bobs

We had a delightful family celebration last night....it set the tone of gratitude and joy for my weekend.

I've had a couple of days to mull over Marilyn's papers....and got a good start on her Joy Journal today.  There's a vintage vibe to these bits and bobs and it will be fun to puzzle them all together.

I was excited to see so many butterflies in the mix....even the stamps on the package were butterflies.

Here's a sneak peek at my start on the cover.

I took more of a strip quilting approach featuring one of her butterflies in the corner.

There was a small...but mighty group downtown today.

It was cold and raw...but Paul and I were happy to be there.

When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There may be tyrants and murderers, and for a time they may seem invincible, but in the end they always fail. Think of it: always. Mahatma Gandhi

  1. Once again, thank you for peacefully protesting. Marilyn’s journal looks like it’s off to a great start! You definitely have a knack for putting papers together, MaryAnn. I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out! Have a good Sunday!

    1. Thanks Judy! Like I said...it's like a puzzle. It was cold out there....but we're always glad when we show up!

  2. I really like your quote from Mahatma Ghandi, especially that last word, “always.”

    1. Thank you! I hope that is the last word. We've got a lot of work to do in the meantime.
