Joy doesn't cancel out the heavy things...but it gives you little pockets of strength to carry on. Let it in....whenever and where you can. Stacie Swift
We had a couple of unusually hot and humid days....but I was excited that we were back to fabulous spring weather today. The sun was warm, and the air was cool and crisp....and the front that brought in the better air created a breathtaking purple sky last evening.
I spent almost the entire day outside. I finally planting all the annuals I've been hardening off...I shared some perennials with a neighbor and spread the last of my mulch/compost mix. So many people were out and about...so I got little breaks all day long visiting and connecting with neighbors. I love days like this.
I didn't take any photos today...but had to laugh when I heard my camera taking a photo in my pocket. I had blue jeans on...but the photo came out purple....a nod back to last night's evening sky....and maybe a little purple pocket of strength.
The lilac in my side yard is starting to bloom! I took this photo a few days ago....I love this color purple.

The color purple: ✅ you snagged it, MaryAnn!
ReplyDeleteThe sky was so pretty last evening … and well INTO the evening. These longer evenings feel magical.
Love that your camera knew its assignment! That pocket pic is totally a nod to last night's sky!
And your lilac is doing a terrific job of keeping on theme. SO much to savor at this time of year : )
I guess I should have kept looking! Ha ha....I loved my pocket pic too! And I do love that the lilacs are blooming. Savoring spring!
DeleteI love purple in all its variations--but I do seem to have trouble finding many pretty purple fabrics these days--beautiful night sky photo and even that "pocket shot" is neat;))))
ReplyDeleteHugs for a great Memorial Day weekend upcoming...Julierose
I love the color purple too! I have a purple accent wall going up my stairs and I couldn't love it more. Interesting about the lack of purple fabrics.
DeleteI hope you have a great holiday weekend foo Julierose!
The quote you began with is perfect for these trying times! I love that plummy purple color and your pocket photo was a bit of fun synchronicity!! I talked about your post yesterday at my stitching group and we all agreed that having joyful pursuits like stitching and knitting is what keeps us sane these days! Plus, the gift of a beautiful day and a lovely sunset!! Thanks for the purple inspiration, MaryAnn!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the yummy validation Judy! You are lucky to have a stitching group that are of like minds. There's nothing like our friends to help us cope.
