It's not about being good at creativity, it's about creativity being good for you!
Marita and I took a walk this morning and came across this amazing wildflower garden filled with Sweet William. It stopped us in our tracks.
Every shade of pink was represented!
Speaking of pink....I got a start on my concertina....and it probably won't surprise you that I am going to work through the full color spectrum. I started with PINK (for Kimberly).....and am transitioning to red. I'm thinking I might add a little white and/or black to that overpowering pink background. So far I have used fabric, watercolor, colored pencil, a couple black pens, alcohol markers and pages from a book and catalog.
I just finished the red in my rainbow puzzle....and am transitioning to orange.
I think this counts as my rainbow for today!
Look what I got in the mail... a lovely handmade tag from Roseanne. It will certainly find a good home in one of my journals! Thanks Roseanne!
Your opening quotation struck a chord with me, MaryAnn. I can feel so strongly when creativity doesn't get enough of a voice and, conversely, I feel whole and whole-hearted when it does.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing the amazing Sweet William wildflower garden! You've already got eye-popping contrasts and varieties going while maintaining a sense of balance and clarity. Well done. Great display of it on top of the rainbox puzzle!
You started with Sweet William and ended with Sweet Roseanne! Roseanne, what a gorgeous tag ❤️
And the perfect pink start to your concertina wildflower garden!
Thanks Dotty! Creativity is a must for me....even if I'm not all that happy with the result. I'm not sure this concertina will be a work of art in the end....but i's just good for me to do it!
DeleteThe Sweet William was just so amazing. I didn't want to hold up our walk...but I could have lingered there for quite a while.
Yes...isn't Roseanne's tag sweet!
Being a pink lover, I'm delighted with the start of your concertina book and those wildflowers are glorious, MaryAnn! And the quotation about creativity is so true. I had been feeling a bit overwhelmed recently (too much clutter and a sick cat!) but once I began creating again, I felt so much better. Also, undertaking a slow de-stashing and donating items to our local arts and crafts thrift store has been a joy! Plus, our cat, Max , is doing better!
ReplyDeleteThanks Judy! It's going to be a fun project! So sorry you have been overwhelmed with things....and so sorry about Max....but glad he's better. It's amazing how things can weigh us down. I am often completely overwhelmed with my stash and stuff....but I've yet to fully do anything about it. I just keep creating in the midst of it...and that is not always easy. Your comment is an inspiration to me!
DeleteWell, that's nice, MaryAnn! I'm glad I could inspire you for once! ☺️
ReplyDeleteMore than once!!!
