"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

A Little Joy

Becky found a little joy in the parking lot at the greenhouse where she works....and her photo made me smile.

You just never know...she said.

So keep your eyes open.....you just might find a little joy too!

As I was scrolling through my Instagram feed this morning an artist said (can't remember who) when in doubt just paint circles...they're meditative and calming.

It was a busy day....so that's what I did for today's ICAD...quick and simple meditative circles. I'm really enjoying working with these pre-treated cards...and I'm surprised at how well the gesso takes the watercolor.

When I did the index card challenge years ago I often worked off the card...and then glued my piece on the card because I wanted more control. It almost felt like cheating. This time...I'm trying to do something loose...quick and simple right on the card.

I created a photo/video montage of some of the highlights from our Vermont trip and posted them on Instagram if you have any interest.

Here are just a couple of the groupings.
