"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Lupin Season

Paul and I were out exploring most of the day today and it was amazing! It's going to take me a few days to go through my photos and process it all...then I'll share a few highlights. But if you have any picture perfect idea in your head about what the Vermont Countryside looks like with its small towns....rolling hills and farms...it's ALL true.

I took a walk up the road last evening...

...and I felt like I struck gold when I found this rainbow of batik fabric ties.

A clever and inviting entrance to #28.
I'm guessing the owner and I could be friends.

It's lupin season....and there is a pretty patch in one of the many gardens on the property.

They live up to what my son used to call them...."bluepins."

And they are sprinkled all along the roadsides here and there.
I felt like I was in the land of Miss Rumphius!

Inspired by this piece of doodle art on one of the shelves here ad Dana and Sean's home....

....I completed my ICAD #5 today in between walks and outings.  I loved those wonky hearts that are scattered here and there.

I'm not quite sure why these photos appear blurry in my draft.

They're clear in iPhoto...but you get the idea.  Just a little colorful joy for card #5.

(watercolor and pen doodles on a gessoed index card)

  1. OH, Yes, Miss Rumphius. I always loved that storybook. :) Love the lupins, too - even their leaves are pretty.
