"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Fruit of the Loom

It was a whirlwind of a day which included a delightful lunch with a friend. But I don't think there was anything else more exciting than the big box that was waiting for me when I got home.

Joy sometimes looks like the first 150 pairs of new Fruit of the Loom children's underwear ready to deliver to Maine Needs.

  3. So Joyful MaryAnn! Whenever I go past the outlet mall with the Leggs/Hanes store (usually 4 or 5 times a year), I always buy socks for a Wider Circle, which sounds a lot like Maine Needs. I always set a limit on what to spend, usually $50 or $60. Last time was a big score as they were clearing out a certain style/color of boys socks. I ended up with 104 pairs (boys, girls men, women) for $60. I cleaned them out.

    Keep doing what you do!

    1. Oh Ellen....this just makes me giddy! Good for you! What a wonderful way to contribute to the world. My son has always said that if he needs to shift is attitude or focus....he puts on a clean pair of socks. It works every time. Thank you for gifting so many socks to a Wider Circle!
