"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Artfully Amazing

We spent a good chunk of the day at Jane's beach.

We had a wonderful time, but this post will feature some unexpected beach goers....Ayla's Barbies.

Ayla made these bathing suits all by herself from old socks using a sewing machine, and a needle and thread and she is largely self taught.

I love the fact the seams are on the outside...very chic.I think they're absolutely artfully amazing.

And although it may be a little odd to feature Barbie's butt...but her design and stitching is inspiring!

And this particular photo of Ayla taking a break from digging her hole is artfully amazing too!

There's a lot of energy in the house.

  2. The sewing is impressive- and that is how my sister and started "sewing" - using old socks to make dresses for Barbies! Nothing we made was this fancy- I remember a lot of tube dresses:) Good for her and happy you are having fun.

    1. I couldn't agree more Kathy. I remember making tube dresses! My grandmas used to make us layers gowns out of lace and sheer curtains.

We've been busy but I do hope to squeeze in a few creative activities with Ayla and Aras one of these days.
