"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

July Joy

Paul and I are not as young as we used to be....so today was a bit of a recovery day with a little of this and a little of that.

I'm excited to have several rain lilies blooming...they love this hot humid weather way more than I do.

Debbie sent a quote that made me smile: "Sorry for gallivanting through life as if joy is the entire point. It's the only way I know how to be." Casa Kenny

Debbie also sent me this July Joy List from Amanda Hilton @thesimplywell official
There's some good recommendations here!

I thought it was a good day for another birds eye garden shot. Everything is full grown and thriving in my texture garden.

It's a little tightly packed...but that means the weeds don't have room to grow. I'll probably thin it out a bit in the fall.
Some of my July Joy!

  3. I love your texture garden - what a good idea!! There really is joy to be found every day in the most unexpected places! My husband and I love Mutts cartoons and our Mutts daily calendar has a "Little Joy" on it every day. Today's little joy - working on a jigsaw puzzle! For me it will be working with some colorful scraps of fabric!!! Judy

    1. Thanks Judy! When I look for perennial plants I look for a variety of textures and shades of green. Blooms are short lived...so the plant has to be a handsome...and interesting.

Love the sound of your daily calendar with the joys....and of course I also love colorful scraps of fabric!
