"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

And They're Off!

And just like that the HAHAs are off on the next leg of their trip.

Ayla and I got to know each other this week...and I am hoping we stay in touch.

And there's nothing quite like kid art on the refrigerator art to bring a smile to my face.

Ayla's drew the pig...and Aras the bluejay....and they gave them to me when they arrived.

Live a life you are excited about.

Ayla was singing in the shower this morning....and she is a good role model for living a life she is excited about. She oozes joy....almost all the time.

  1. Love the pig 😁 but that blue jay took real talent! Must run in the family 😊.

To honor that transition from full house back to usual routines, these words from Leah Hager Cohen's novel, Heat Lightning:
    The silence of the house
    became gigantic,
    the way a tiny cut
    can feel huge
    inside your mouth.

    1. It was a wild and wonderful week....and Paul and the quiet in the house feels almost foreign....in a gigantic way. Love the quote.

I have just a few days before my friend Becky comes....but that will be whole different vibe.

  3. It sounds like you had a joyful and busy visit, but it is always nice to have your home back to yourself, MaryAnn. Ayla and Aras will have some wonderful memories to carry with them, as I'm sure you will as well. It is always so good to spend time with family! Judy
