"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Shopped the House

As one year comes to a close and a new one is on the horizon, I'm reflecting on the opportunity we have in front of us for 2026 to be a year of positive and dramatic change for the country - if we stay focused. Pete Buttigieg

I shopped the house and found the perfect chair for my Crafter Creature from Clarke

I think she will be quite comfortable and happy on my puzzle table helping me ring in the new year!

But I do think she needs a name....any suggestions?

To love a country, as to love a person, it to love a flawed and exquisite creation, to see what is best in it, to be angry when it is not what it could be, precisely because you have seen glimmers of its greatness. Pete Buttigieg
As you may have figured out by the quotes....the guy keeping an eye on things in my kitchen is Pete Buttigieg...one of the most articulate political voices out there today. Paul spied Mayor Pete in a vintage shop in Portland when we were shopping with Langston....and I knew instantly that he needed to come home with me. He gives me hope for 2026!

Hope is the consequence of action more than the cause. Pete Buttigeig

  1. Happy new year, MaryAnn! Absolutely PERFECT chair for JP (formal name: Joyful Puttering); totally love that you shopped the house and found the absolute right item. With JP and PB to cheer you on, you've got 2026 primed to be GREAT!

  2. I’m going to suggest Philomena - goes nicely with Frog and has a fittingly creative sound to it - but whatever her name ends up being, she looks so very cute on her little chair🐸🥰

  3. Flossie the frog, perhaps? I would never have guessed that this was Pete (I even tried to zoom in) but it really does look like him. Happy New Year!
