"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Journeys

I have four healthy leaves emerging from my amaryllis bulb. What a wonderful distraction this winter tracking the journey of this odd and amazing freak of nature.

Speaking of journeys...I'm guessing some of you are following the Walk for Peace on social media. It's a balm for my soul...such a wonderful contrast to the violence and chaos going on in the world right now.

A group of monks and their dog Aloka are walking 2,300 miles from Texas to Washington D.C.  They started in October, and plan to finish in February...and their only goal is to promote peace, unity, compassion, and nonviolence. Couldn't be better timing. I highly recommend following along..the photographs and stories of community and support are amazing and uplifting!

  2. I was sad to hear about the serious injury one of the monks sustained after being hit by a car. But their purpose is quite profound. I was surprised to hear that this was not the first time they walked, as I had never heard of it before this year.

    1. Yes me too....it was quite serious. I'd never heard of it before this year either. But it's coming at just the right time. Thanks Ellen.
