"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Microburst of Joy

I have been working in little microbursts on Roseanne's altered art journal....the final burst just today. It's all done...and I'm quite pleased with it.

These journals are fun because they're so unique and personal. The papers are almost all from Roseanne...so it will be personal to her. And it's unique because there's not another one like this anywhere!

Our friendship means a lot to me...and that I was able to do this for her makes it personal to me.

Almost all of the pages are edged...giving some color inspiration
for each spread. And it looks really cool from the side.

Almost every time I've assemble one....I think of something new. While I was making Becky's I thought to fold lighter weight papers over the edge of the journal page so they would be more stable. I used to always rip the pages down and stitch on the extension. I still rip pages...but I do a whole lot or wrapping....and every page is stitched.

Just today...as I was running low on Roseanne's papers and going through the leftovers and scraps and I had another idea.

Here I glued two scraps together...folded it over the edge and stitched it down.

I love this new technique...and used it in several places.

This is what a microburst of joy looks like!
