"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Micro Crafting!

My heart is heavy with all that is in the news....most of it scares me.

But when I went out early this morning to give the bluebirds their breakfast...there was the waning full moon shining through the black tree branches. It was a microdose of calm.

After yesterday's post I've been thinking about how helpful it will be to also tackle chores and tasks in terms of micro steps. As Dotty commented yesterday "the glory of micro!"

I did some micro organizing in the studio today...and it felt wonderful.

And I was tickled when I come across some things in my studio and spontaneously made something quick and simple. One ply of a paper napkin glued onto a card with a tiny fused tree....and just like that I have a sweet little card for someone special.

 This is micro crafting!

  1. This is spectacular, MaryAnn! LOVE that you've modeled micro for us. You've taken us—gloriously!—from abstract concept to conccrete application. More more more!!!

  2. That micro crafted card is magical, MaryAnn! I love it! My heart has been heavy lately also - the news has my head spinning. But some micro organizing, micro crafting and micro adventuring helps greatly, as well as a beautiful moment of calm looking at something lovely in nature.

  3. I love the micro-crafting! I think micro-cleaning is my favorite. Being in my late sixties, cleaning, beyond the daily dishes, etc., has become how it’s done around here. I had such hopes for the new year, those were dashed quite quickly. Your newsletter, read each night before bed, brings much more than micro joy!

    1. I'm in my late sixties too...so micro-cleaning is definitely the way to go! Instead of high hopes for the year....let's have micro hopes for the day! Celebrate one little thing at a time.
