"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Good Cause

Sam, Kelly, and some of Kelly's family including young Eli joined Paul and me this morning for a Community Walk around Back Cove to benefit Maine Needs.

There is something about people pulling together for a good cause that just feels good. 500+ people registered for the walk.

It was foggy and a bit drizzly for 3 1/2 miles around cove...but we all did fine.

There hazy views of the city and a few cranes along the way made it a delight.

There is a small stretch on the city side of the cove where are you walk along the highway.....but as the path curved it was nice to see the long line of people ahead.

There is power...and energy in numbers!
Eli did a great job...and only took a short piggyback ride from Aunt Kelly for the last little stretch.

It was a good day....doing a good thing...with good people...for a good cause!

  1. GOOD for all FIVE HUNDRED+ of you! What a heartening story ❤️ Is this path/trail the one that goes past the bamboo Dancing for Joy cranes sculpture? The fog looks very atmospheric. Glad the precipitation limited itself to drizzle. MAINE NEEDS is such a vital and vibrant organization, and you are a vital and vibrant volunteer/supporter.

    1. Yes indeed....the path passes by the cranes. We chatted about them as we passed by...but I didn't snap a photo. They were lovely in the fog!
