I'm so excited that the lilac is starting to bloom.
My focus has been outside getting the gardens whipped into shape...but I'm finding nooks and crannies to my work on the art journals I'm doing for friends. Mostly in the evening. I flip from one to another....and I'm doing a pretty good job keeping all the papers straight. This patchwork quilt journal for Lynn is officially done. I actually want to keep working in it...but that's what Lynn gets to do now. There's a lot going on with it...but it is really a blank slate!
And the back is just as fun. I inadvertently cut Lynn's watercolor down with straight cuts...and I instantly regretted it. But I found another circle doodle in Lynn's pile of papers so I extended the overlay watercolor on the front and the back. It worked well and just adds more interest.
I'm pretty excited that the pool cover is off!
It's hard to believe that I'll be swimming in a week or two!

Lynn's patchwork quilt journal is scrumptious! Makes me reminisce about days when I was still put down to 'nap' after lunch but was old enough that I didn't actually sleep; I have vivid memories of feasting on the patterns of the pieced hand-stitched-by-a-great-grandmother quilts that were often my naptime covers. I never got tired of those visual playgrounds. Similarly, Lynn's journal has my eyes exploring and exploring … wanting to hold it in my hand to turn pages and feel its textures. What a magnificent gift you've created, MaryAnn!
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than those vintage quilts. I have similar memories. And thanks for the thumbs up on the journal. It actually IS fun to hold in my hands and I have turned the pages over and over. I'm excited to send it along to Lynn.
