Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Oscar Wilde
Aubrey sent me a couple of photos of a quilt he made inspired by the stained glass quilt I made for Amy and Lisle back in 2020. I'm flattered that my quilt was an inspiration for him to make his own.I wrote about my fusing process here in this post....and here's my version.
Aubrey has his hanging in his stairwell and you can see where mine is hanging in Amy's house in the link above. And don't you love the blue quilt on the right....I'm guessing Aubrey made that one too. Well done Aubrey! Thank you for sharing your project with me.

Speaking of trees....Paul and I have been waiting for the trees to leaf out in the woods to help shade the sun in the backyard. They're getting there!

Oh, those captivating quilts! I love zooming in up close and personal to savor each individual piece for its particularities, patterns, and textures, and then zooming back out to see the forest for the trees, so to speak. And, speaking of trees, yours in the woods are getting there. Dave and I just returned from a walk where we were taking note of the I'm-the-boss-of-me way each tree, shrub, and flower chooses its own rate of coming into fullness.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your enthusiasm Dotty! I love your "I'm-the-boss-of me" conversation with Dave about trees. Isn't THAT the truth! There is a line we have used in our family since the boys were little "you're not the boss of me!" I wish I could remember how it started.
DeleteThanks for starting my day with a smile!
Oh my goodness! I am in love with these stained glass quilts! So very inspiring!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! They are fairly simple to make if you're into that sort of a thing. I actually have a small practice one that I need to finish up...and maybe I'll do a giveaway sometime.
