"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Ten Year Old

Subtitle: Smile in the Spring

This quote makes me smile everytime I see it: Whatever you do today.....do it with the confidence of a 4 year old in a Batman cape

And if you want a quick transition puzzle while you're figuring out which one comes next....do one that's designed for a 10 year old.

I started in the middle of this fabulous 300 piece shelfie puzzle I got from my sister. I've done it several times....and I have the confidence of a 10 year old when I do.

I actually will have a 10ish year old visit later in the summer...so I'll probably pull it out again.

There's a lawn of ajuga on one of our morning walking routes...

and it always makes me smile in the spring.

This last puzzle was just a delight!

  1. The shelfie puzzle looks very appealing and very MaryAnn, and I'd have to say the same for the puzzle you just completed : )

Ajuga is not a plant name with which I'm familiar, though I may be familiar with the plant with knowing so. What is its rough height? Spring, glorious spring! (though it felt like very very EARLY spring here today).

    1. Ha ha...yes it IS very MaryAnn!

Ajuga is mostly a ground cover and also known as bugleweed. The foliage is very low to the ground but it shoots up these 6-8 inch blooms in the spring. I find the color quite lovely especially in mass like in this lawn. I had it along a walkway in Lexington and always love it.

It feels more like early winter yesterday and today!

  2. Love the quote and that purple Ajuga! My husband is the puzzle maker in our house and I always take a photo of him with his finished puzzle. Last year, for his 75th birthday, I compiled them into a humorous book with the title "Puzzle Master"! He loved it!!
