Lighthearted

We got some much needed rain today...and that makes my heavy heart sing. And my heavy heart also needs a lighthearted post. I have to set the news aside for a bit.

I'm guessing most of you who are gardeners have a brand of garden gloves that you love. I know I do. 

These Atlas gloves fit so well that it's almost like I'm using my bare hands. I can't help myself from picking up a new pair every few years and I sometimes get them as gifts. I do use them until they are nearly in shreds....and they last for years!

So I had to chuckle as I got into all the nooks and crannies of the garage and found clear evidence of my fondness for these gloves. I washed them all...and laid them out on the patio to dry yesterday....many of them hopelessly stained. Then I paired them up and found three lone left handers. Where did the mates go? 

I did throw away a few pairs that were stiff and torn....but I'm going to keep the three loners because maybe I'll find the mates. And if another left handed one wears out I'll have a replacement....it doesn't matter if they match. 

And just as I'm writing this...I've decided that I'm going to start wearing a different color on each hand....just to keep things lighthearted. Why not!
