Makes My Heart Sings

One of my neighbors has winterberry in the woods in his backyard...and I got up close today take a look. I love the tight clusters of bright Christmas red berries nested along the branches. They make my heart sing! And soon the leaves will drop leaving just the berries. 

We are having dinner out with our oldest son Nate tonight. This...on the heels of lunch with Sam and Kelly a few days ago also makes my heart sing! I love spending time with my adult children. 


Speaking of winterberry.....here's a little digital doodle project from way back in 2015.

I created the berries and pine branches using the drawing tools in my Pages Program placing them the photo of the bottles. I had forgotten how simple little projects like this can also make my heart sing! 

I used the same bottles to create this image.

    Well, golllllly! I don't think I even knew I had drawing tools in Pages. Thanks for the heads up—makes my heart sing!

    Over the weekend we had guests who noticed the winterberry shrub we have in our yard and went gaga for it. Their hearts were singing, too!

      Oh....I'm so glad you have a winterberry.

      I use the drawing tool quite a bit....there is soooo much you can do. You do need to make sure you change out of document mode and into project mode. When you open a new page on the top right click "document" then UNCHECK "document body." This allows you to do anything on the page without the confines of a regular document. There are all kinds of tools at your disposal...and I would like nothing more that to help you further if you are interested. You just have to play. I've learned a LOT over the years just by playing.

    Just catching up with your blog and enjoying 'joy on the loose' and things that make your heart sing! Those berries definitely spark joy for me too, as well as your digital doodles, MaryAnn. I've been working on some joyful projects myself and will post them soon on IG! We are so lucky to have creativity in our lives!! Thanks for sharing yours!
