I was quite taken with these fabulous snow/rock sculptures on our patio fence. It's already covered in snow again.
It's been a day of connecting! I had a nice long conversation with my siblings this morning. Nancy lives in Minneapolis so is up close and personal with all of this chaos and tragedy. Marilyn and LaVonn are living through frigid cold in Wisconsin....and Doug is getting freezing rain in Atlanta. We're expecting up to 15 inches of snow here in Maine overnight...so we had lots to talk about.
I also had a good long chat with Clarke today....which is always a delight.
Remember Clarke's Creature Christmas? She loves knitting these little frogs...and said she may be making them the rest of her life. They have unlocked something in me....she said. I totally get that.
There was nobody more special to Clarke than her grandmother....dear sweet Margie. When Margie turned 92 Clarke sent her a purple sweatshirt with SHUPE 92 on the front....and Margie wore it with pride. Purple was the color of the Colorado Rockies...and Margie was a fan.
She was wearing it on the day of the the solar eclipse...and staff snapped this photo of her.Clarke wanted a frog of her own...so made one as a tribute to her grandmother.

Clarke, the frogs you create and the outfits you create for them are BEYOND FABULOUS! Their miniature size, their whimsical personalities, attitude, and postures are SO GOSH-DARNED APPEALING. Everything about what you are doing in bringing yourself to these critters and sharing them with others brings SO MUCH GOOD INTO THE WORLD. ❤️
ReplyDeleteThanks Dotty I couldn't agree more. She is having so much joy in the process of making them....and then giving them away. Everything about it SO GOSH-DARNED APPEALING! She and I talked about what fun this is to send joy out into the world.
DeleteClark’s frogs made me smile. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI’d say Clarke hit a Grand Slam!!!⚾️💫 Her little frog creations are FANTASTIC 🐸🧶🥰 And her Margie/Grandma one is absolutely precious ❤️ Here in northern Indiana we ended up with about 9 inches❄️ - making today a good day to stay in and connect with crafting😉

ReplyDeleteClarke's frogs make me smile too!
Thanks Lori....the frogs are an out of the park grand slam! We got about 15 inches of light powdery snow! It didn't stick to anything....but the ground is covered and lovely!
The frogs! OMGoodness! They could not be any sweeter. For perspective, about how tall are they? 2-3 or so inches is my guess. Wow, Clarke - these are awesome!♥️
ReplyDeleteIndeed! They are more like 4 or 5 inches when they are standing. So much awesomeness!!!
DeleteSo much talent and cuteness! Clarke, you are amazing!!! Love these!! ❤️
