"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Precious Scraps

There is something about love that builds and is creative. There is something about hate that tears down and is destructive.

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Martin Luther King Jr.

As I've already mentioned....I finished Roseanne's altered art journal...but before I got it in the mail I wanted to do something with the leftover paper and small scraps.

When I fold and stitch papers around the edge of the journal pages there are always little cutoffs....and I can't bear to throw them away. So I started a second project for Roseanne with this little pile of precious scraps...
....and this pre-stitched brown paper piece that Roseanne included in the pile she sent me. Once I got started....it took on a life of its own and has been another joyful microburst of art and crafting over the last couple of days.

I'll share this second project over the next couple of posts....stretching it out as I get the box in the mail.

I really enjoy these little challenges...and it has me thinking.....

  1. It brings me joy to know there is a creative project afoot that has taken on a life of its own. So important, that magic, that ability you have, MaryAnn, to see potential and then act, to take that first step and let things unfold. Brava!
