Happy Halloween! We get one trick-or-treater every year. Just one.
Patty gave me this lovely monarch butterfly from a recent trip....and I love it. It found a home on my wreath by our front door and goes so well with my pumpkins....and I was tickled with the reflection of the tree in the side light. Where did October go? Bring on November!
Paul and I attended the rally downtown today....costumes were encouraged so I went as joy. There was a festive and hopeful energy in the air...we're so glad we went!

Our particular street is pretty quiet, only 4 trick or treaters thus far and not likely to get more. But just 30 feet away, across a cross street, it's as though one steps into a different country entirely—4 interconnected streets/neighborhoods and EVERYBODY is out, animated, lively, costumed, and connecting with each other. My passeggiata tonight was of the highest caliber! Fire pits lit, jack o lanterns glowing, kids of all ages talking, laughing, running, joy-filled. Just the best! Your butterfly is perfect, MaryAnn, as was your joy costume! My favorite sign today: REMEMBER TO SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK NOV 1, AND SET YOUR COUNTRY FORWARD NOV 3.
ReplyDeleteBest of both worlds. I loved when I lived in or near busy trick-or-treating neighborhoods...it was so festive and such great energy. What I loved most that is was one of the only days of the year that EVERYONE had their porch lights on! Thanks for sharing your Halloween passeggiata.
DeleteLOVE LOVE that sign! Let's hope we start moving forward soon!
One trick-or-treater is easy to plan for, lol. We had about 50 this year and the cutest costumes were hand made Dorothy and Scarecrow ones. I had a dream last night I forgot to vote but I was also going to work so I shouldn’t have woke up in such a panic since I’m retired. Goes to show how important I think it is to VOTE. Love Betty’s favorite sign. Also, your butterfly looks amazing, just the right proportion and to have gotten the reflection of the trees AND have the fabulous pumpkin stems showing so well…..chef’s kiss!
ReplyDeleteYes...easy to plan for just one: we bought one regular size bag of Skittles. 50 is a lot! How fun! Thanks for the "chef's kiss" on the butterfly effect by my front door. All thanks to Patty!
