I was driving home from an errand and saw this fabulous wild phlox patch. I had to go a bit further to find a place to turn around...but I did go back. How could I not.... I love mass plantings!
I remember the ditches lined with phlox on the country roads in Wisconsin where I grew up. Of course I had to go back and look!Happy Pride Month!
Inspired by these cards I made a few years ago for Pride Month...I made my first card this afternoon. It's also day one of the annual of the ICAD (index card a day) challenge...sponsored by Tammy at Daisy Yellow/gypsy999. I've loosely done the challenge before...and I'm going to loosely try it again this year as a way to ease my way back into a creative daily practice. Or as least as many days as I can.
My theme is going to be: what's on my table as I'm cleaning up the studio....and/or what's on my mind that I've wanted to give a try.
I had a few chores and errands today...and I thoroughly enjoyed puttering in the yard and garden on this spectacular late spring day. It would have been easy for me to just let it go and not start...or even do the challenge at all. There are so many things drawing my attention this time of year. But I paused and headed to the studio for a few minutes...and I'm glad I did.
Since I knew I was going to do a Pride card...I searched for a rainbow in the scraps that were laying around...and cut out a few more scribble flowers and did a little assemblage.
These cards don't have to be works of art...they just need to be quick and fun. Just what I need to ease my way back into a creative daily practice.

Tammy does provide prompts...but also encourages you to use your own prompts of themes. The point it to create!
