"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Bonus

Last night we had our first dinner guests since the move.....it was so nice having people around our table.  Great conversation, tasty food, and a good game of cards with Janice and Jay is just what we needed.

A splash of color from our morning walk.

One of the bonuses of having people over is it pushed me to tidy up the condo. I think this is quite literally the first time since the move that our dining room table has been completely cleaned off. It's been command central for unpacking, sorting....and just about everything.

This living space is finally starting to feel warm and inviting.....more like home. We're using the table that Paul built from one of the pews from his first church that he's been using it as a desk all these years. It has a lot of sentimental value....and there's a great story that goes along with it about a special carving in the corner. You can read about it in this post:  https://joyfulputtering.blogspot.com/2017/01/a-pew-story.html

Both Paul and I wondered if it would be too big....but we think it's going to work.  It needs a little attention because it's a bit wobbly and the skirt around the base is too low for the hickory chair arms to fit underneath.  (The chairs came from Paul's grandparents porch.) But we're putting four of the boys' building blocks to good use to prop up the table and it's working just fine....for now.

I finally hung the ceramic tiles I love so much from Folly 101....they just makes me happy.  And this splashy new orange towel came from Tracie....a match made in heaven.

Slow but sure....one tile...one wall, one room at a time as I make this house a home.

And just in case you were wondering.....one shelf at a time too.
This was a fun one!
