"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

Gathering At The Pond

My white rain lily is still plugging along....one or two blooms at a time. Such joy they have brought me all summer....and now even into the fall.

We've had about a dozen ducks on our pond at the condo all summer and we enjoyed watching the ducklings grown up.  But throughout the fall the flock has increased and recently Paul and I have counted as many as 50 gathering at the pond. Our guess is that we are a stop on the migration path as they rest up for their long journey.

Recently they're spending more time waddling up and down our streets...eating everything they can find and they are quite entertaining.

The fall peak is early this year here in Maine and we've had some wind and rain....so lots of leaves have come down.  I love all the textures and colors in this little garden....the flowers and plants all hidden in the leaves.
