"Don't count out joy. That crafty little creature. Even if you only half-listen, it is chiming in & piping up from the unlikeliest of places. From the woe of your striped heart. From the warmth of your striped socks." Lori Hetteen
I love being home. But today was one of those days where I was out and about for most of it....all of it good. And I found a little joy everywhere I went. (Yes...we still have Margie's tree up in the corner of the living room...and yes....75% of my socks are striped.)
My first stop was Folly 101...where I confirmed an order for 400 matches!!! Yes...400! Some of them are for the spring/summer season but most of them are for next Christmas. And it's never too soon to start so I can spread it out over time.
The store was beautiful....but I didn't have my phone with me...I would have loved to share some photos.
My next stop was another shopping spree for Maine Needs. I had a few more requests for tags some generous donations. So being newly committed to buying local...I headed back to Marden's where I knew my $175 would go the farthest. I decided to widen my scope this time buying other things that are always needed.
I got underwear, lots of socks, tshirts, sweatshirts, leggings, and a couple sports bras. I was tallying things up on an index card this time so I knew I would be in the ballpark.
As I was standing in line I noticed that there were four people checking out...and one of them was Jeannette who checked me out last time. And...as luck would have it...her register opened up as I got to the head of the line and we greeted each other like we were old friends. Joy....that crafty little creature.....works like that sometimes. My total came to $181.42. I can't wait to deliver it all!
Oh my, I can’t believe how much joy you are sharing and glow in the hearts knowing that someone did care about them ❣️
