"I do believe in an everyday sort of magic...the inexplicable connectedness we sometimes experience with places, people, works of art and the like; the eerie appropriateness of moments of synchronicity; the whispered voice, the hidden presence, when we think we're alone." Charles de Lint

First Snowfall

We had our first snowfall of the season while we were in Maine this weekend...a little earlier than usual.

It looked lovely carpeting the woods behind the condo....

...but it didn't seem quite so pretty when we got back to Lexington this afternoon.

We hadn't gotten the ginkgo leaves up...so the crusty melting snow and soggy leaves made for tough shoveling.  Oops!  I hope we get some warm days for melting so we can get the clean up done before real winter sets in.
The ginkgo tree is finally completely bare....it was a good season!
