Valentine Cactus

I've been watching this single Christmas cactus bud for weeks. This first photo was taken on February 5th....the second on February 9th.....

....and today it was fully open in all its glory.  So for this year...at least...it's a Valentine Cactus! What a special treat in the middle of the winter!
